About Emilia Puertas

Hi, I'm Emilia,

I've been sailing since I was six, and racing since I was nine.

 

My love for sailing continues to grow, and as I progress from dinghies to keel boats, sailing continues to teach me many lessons in determination and responsibility.  Racing has taken me across the United States and around the world.

This is the guidebook I wish I had when I first started sailing. My family doesn't sail, so a lot of the lessons in this book I learned slowly, the hard way, or too late.

I live next to a beach in San Francisco Bay and spend a lot of my time on the water, near the water, or writing about it.
